Stills Centre for Photography showcases seminal early works by Cindy Sherman

Stills opened an exhibition showcasing seminal early works by Cindy Sherman, one of the most influential artists of the last 40 years. The exhibition at Stills presents, Untitled (Murder Mystery People), some of Sherman’s earliest self-portrait photographs that were made in 1976, the year she graduated from the art department at the State University College at Buffalo, USA. The exhibition also includes the 16mm film, Doll Clothes, (1975) and a selection of works from Untitled Film Stills (1977-80), the series for which Sherman first gained international recognition.
