Executive Director – 4A Arts

Position Summary

The Executive Director will support and implement the vision and goals of 4A Arts. This person will be responsible for administration, fundraising, marketing, outreach, and strategic plans for 4A Arts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • ● Create and implement a robust business plan which outlines growth targets and strategic priorities and the timelines and strategies to achieve them
  • ● Responsible for fundraising and developing earned income (membership) necessary to maintain financial health and expand the organization’s reach
  • ● Build the size and scope of the organization’s membership
  • ● Establish and execute strategies for direct outreach to arts and cultural organizations and individual artists to increase website listing
  • ● Communicate effectively with the Board and provide, in a timely and accurate manner, information necessary for proper functionality and informed decision-making
  • ● Help develop, maintain, and support a strong and diverse Board of Directors
  • ● Oversee the creation of a marketing plan to increase website traffic, listings, and membership
  • ● Oversee operational, financial, administrative, and personnel management
  • ● Determine staffing requirements and oversee an effective staff recruitment process
  • ● Ensure that the organization abides by all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations including those pertaining to 501c3 nonprofit organizations
  • ● Foster a positive working environment and organizational culture
  • ● Serve as an articulate, persuasive, and effective spokesperson

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree; graduate degree preferred
Strategic organizational leader with at least 5 years of senior-level management experience preferably in a nonprofit and/or startup environment
Demonstrated track record of effective fundraising from foundations and individual donors
Experience developing a membership program or other earned income program
Past success working with a Board of Directors or similar entity
Strong track record of financial and operational management experience, including budget preparation, nalysis, decision-making, and reportingxcellent written and verbal communication skills
Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and ability to nimbly readjust priorities as situations change
Collaborative working-style that enables engagement within the organization and with external partners
Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and consistent ethical judgment
Commitment to the principles of Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Accessibility

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading the growth of a start-up or small organization
Background in the development of advertising and marketing strategies, including online advertising and social media strategy
Strong understanding of current technology platforms and web-based businesses
Knowledge of the arts, cultural, and creative sector regionally or nationally
Background in advocacy as it pertains to 501c3 organizations
