THE MAC ANNOUNCES DUALITY REALITY AT RO2 ART

The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC) is proud to present a continuing artistic affiliation program with Ro2 Art, owned by Susan Roth Romans and Jordan Roth. As part of the MAC’s community outreach program, The MAC has teamed up with Ro2 Art to extend its contemporary artistic vision and educational support to downtownDallas. This partnership will promote and support contemporary talent. Donations from Ro2 Art will benefit artistic programming at The MAC.

The MAC and Ro2 Art Downtown Gallery are pleased to present Duality Reality by a fall 2011 Foundations program course at SMU, led by Adjunct Lecturer David Dreyer. Duality Reality was generated from a project designed to utilize the materials and processes learned in the fall 2011 Foundations lab practicum. The works reflected a continued discussion about the intricacies of combining two elements, wood and metal. A table saw, planer, band saw, sanders, plasma cutter, metal band saw, MIG welder, angle grinders and sanders were all used in the making of these projects.

Participating artists in Duality Reality include: Jordan Castilleja, Eric Docherty, Floy Gaidarski, Katherine Habeck, Justine McGregor, Lauren McKillup, Andrew Pipenburg, Emmie Skinner, Taylor Smith, and Chris Soohoo. The opening reception will be on September 20 from 6:00
