Miles Cleveland Goodwin: Where We Prayed

Valley House Gallery is pleased to announce our first exhibition for Miles Cleveland Goodwin and the first exhibition in Texas for this Mississippi-born artist. After a tour of duty in the US Navy, he earned a BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon, in 2007, and eventually returned to coastal Mississippi – to the land and people he knows so well.

Working in his open-air studio, Goodwin is deeply in touch with the rural landscape where his extended family lives and where people depend on one another. Goodwinā€™s ruminative portrayals, full of earthy metaphor and soulful intuition, engage us in reciprocal story-telling in the spirit of the literature and Delta Blues of the Deep South.

Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, 6:00 ā€“ 8:30 pm

“Miles Cleveland Goodwin: Where We Prayed” will be on view July 11 ā€“ August 15, 2015, at Valley House Gallery. Preview the exhibition at valleyhouse.com or call 972-239-2441 for information.
