Facets: Contemporary Sculpture by Art Fairchild
Art Fairchild is a local contemporary sculptor with his studio near the Trinity Groves area in North Oak Cliff. His current body of work is inspired by relationships and interactions. Art’s sculptures interpret these relationships and demonstrate how individual forms interact to create a connection. His exhibition entitled “Facets” reflects the surface of his sculptures, the many elements of personalities, and the negotiation within human interactions to create a harmonious rapport. Work titles such as Paso Doble, Two Step, and Tango demonstrate the engagement that takes place in dance, as well as interpersonal relationships. Elements within Fairchild’s sculptures harmonize to create the perception of movement, intimacy, and synergy as they interact and reveal their own unique relationship.
Art’s sculpture can be seen in public collections including Sator Cube which was recently installed in front of the Tarrant County Sub-Courthouse in downtown Arlington, TX. Two of his sculptures, Trio and Whimsical Spherical, are installed in Richard Greene Linear Park at AT&T Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium.
