“Coming Together” Contemporary Bolivian Art

Coming Together is a project that joins two galleries, LuminArte Gallery and the Bianca Antognelli Art Gallery in a celebration of contemporary Bolivian art and music in Dallas. This collective Art Exhibit features six mid-career Bolivian artists reuniting in Dallas for the second time, with outstanding paintings by Patricia Mariaca, Fabricio Lara, Keiko Gonzalez, Angeles Fabbri, Erika Ewel and Alex Zapata. For this exhibition, the artists have invited their musical friends Vero Perez, a star in the Bolivian and Latin-American music scene and maestro guitarist Jorge Villanueva, as special guests to perform live for an enjoyable evening of music and vibrant contemporary Bolivian artwork. The exhibition and opening reception are on Saturday, May 31 from 7 – 10 PM and are free and open to the public.
Born in La Paz, Bolivia in 1988, Vero Perez began her professional career at age 17; and in 2008, she spearheaded one of her most important projects in the widely recognized Bolivian Jazz band, Efecto Mandarina. Through her versatility and emotionally driven singing voice, Vero has already achieved a status as one of the major female performers in Bolivian music. As a fluent speaker of Spanish, French, Portuguese and English, her music achieves a diplomatic resonance in Bolivia and abroad. Vero has won many awards and has collaborated with numerous local and international musicians of stature, including Jorge Villanueva, who grew up with strong Bolivian and Brazilian musical influences and a deep appreciation of the bossa nova, allowing him to develop a uniquely signature voice in the world of Jazz.
Additional performances by Vero Perez and Jorge Villanueva will be on Thursday, May 29th and Friday, May 30th from 7-10PM. RSVP to
