Featuring fine photographic prints by Dan Burkholder, Charles Cramer, Scot Miller,Alan Ross, Jill Skupin Burkholder & R.P. Washburne

September 4 – October 11, 2014

An extraordinary number of people have a deep affection for Caddo Lake, on the Texas/Louisiana border. It is truly unique. No other body of water in Texas remotely resembles it and it is the only natural lake in the state of Texas. The lake supports one of the largest cypress growth swamps anywhere and is visually stunning, with the Spanish moss-draped trees, an abundance of wildlife (including rare birds, & alligators!) and more. Caddo Lake’s wetlands are recognized as “Wetlands of International Importance” under the Ramsar Convention, an international treaty created in 1971. For two years, six renowned photographers turned their lenses on the lake, resulting in this exhibition of 33 diverse & engaging fine photographic prints.

Partial proceeds from “Caddo Lake Exposed” print sales benefit Caddo Lake Institute (, a non-profit scientific and educational organization founded in 1992 by recording artist-conservationist Don Henley, who grew up in the region. Caddo Lake Institute’s mission is to protect the ecological, cultural and economic integrity of Caddo Lake, and its associated wetlands and watershed. CLI works with local communities, schools, organizations & government agencies to protect the unique treasure that is Caddo Lake.
