Bob Stuth-Wade: Knocking From The Inside
For the final exhibition of our 60th Anniversary year, Valley House Gallery is pleased to present our 9th exhibition of Texas artist Bob Stuth-Wade’s paintings and drawings.
Bob Stuth-Wade is best known for his majestic vistas of Big Bend and his more intimate views of the limestone cliffs overhanging the Colorado River in San Saba. These scenes are charged with the artist’s continual exploration of points of psychological connection with the land, and his place in it. Stuth-Wade connects with landscapes of rugged beauty. He is drawn to these places for their power to communicate the rhythms of his life.
About the work in this exhibition, Bob Stuth-Wade writes:
Pounding like a heart on this door of separation by painting about the other side, about the vast intimacy of the desert, about innocence in the eyes of a child, about the comfort of a small town and well-lit studio, till that cadence becomes the beat of a song that remembers, “I am knocking from the inside. I am knocking from the inside…”
