Start the Fall Art Season off with DADA Fall Gallery Walk – Highlights include special exhibitions and artist receptions. Participating galleries and exhibition information will be posted on the DADA facebook event page.  The Gallery Guide is available at participating galleries.  Several galleries open at 10am, check with the individual galleries and get a head start.

American Fine Art – Art of the Native American Potter – 12-5pm

Beaudry Gallery – 12-8pm – Fall Gallery Walk 2018 COSTA / COLIN / FEIGE / RYDEN A systematic inquiry of our surroundings by four artists. From the microscopic abstractions of Brian Ryden, the deconstructed landscapes of Tom Costa, the fractured domestic scenes of Jacob Feie, to the monumental cosmic offerings of Kate Colin.

Irving Arts Center Galleries & Sculpture Garden12-5pm  – The Exhibition Playing with Chess features art related to the game of chess by an eclectic group of 22 artists from the metro areas of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, the Valley and West Texas.

Laura Rathe Fine Art – Special Exhibition by artist ZHAUNG HONG YI: ‘In Full Bloom’’  – The gallery will be hosting a reception for the artist on Saturday, September 8thth from 6-8:30pm with an Artist Talk beginning at 7pm.

Mary Tomás Gallery – Two solo exhibitions featuring new work by artists Winter Rusiloski in ETHEREAL HORIZON and Shawn Saumell in PARADISE LOST. 12-8:30pm – Artist reception from 5:30–8:30 pm

Samuel Lynne Galleries – Samuel Lynne Galleries is pleased to announce the opening reception for David Yarrow’s exhibition Relentless on Saturday, September 8th, from 5-8pm. The artist will be in attendance at the opening reception.

UT Dallas SPiN Gallery Synergy Park North – Dallas-based artist Tracy Hicks (1946- 2014) is featured in a retrospective look at a lifetime of art-science collaboration as demonstrated through his creating and collecting, as well as his creative partnership and innovative visual adaptations. 12-4pm

Brookhaven College – 12-4pm – Forum Gallery – Not-So-Lone Star Studios: A Gathering of Texas Makers – An exhibition of works by 37 Texas metal smiths. Studio Gallery – Tabitha Trolli – New work by Dallas sculptor Tabitha Trolli.

East Dallas

Bath House Cultural Center   – Spatial – An exhibition featuring works by North Texas artists, Sibylle Bauer, Fannie Brito, Sara Cardona and Marian Lefeld.  The exhibition came together around the four artists, who live in the United States but maintain psychological or physical ties to other countries.

Liberation: Art from VenezuelaPresented in collaboration with UNIARS, this exhibition features works by Dina Atencio, Luis Cuevas, Oscar Casanova Niño, Victoria Morales, José León, and Carlos Ramos.

North Dallas
The Gallery at North Haven Gardens 12-6pm

Southwest Gallery – Showing work by IGOR SAMSON – 12-6pm

Valley House Gallery& Sculpture Garden 12-5pm – In Lloyd Brown’s examination of America, we see small town intersections, train crossings, and rural stretches of road, in paintings made after he traveled across the United States on Highway 50.


Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery at UD  12-5  – “The Space Between” Curated by Eileen Wallace – Exhibition Dates: August 25 to September 23, 2018 – The Space Between features handmade artist books and printed works that converge around the idea of the space between things in a literal and metaphorical sense.

Irving Arts Center  – Featured Exhibits: The Mother Road Revisited: Route 66 Then & Now (Photographs by Natalie L. Slater) Garth Williams: Illustrator of the Century – Playing with Chess – Playing with Chess features art related to the game of chess by an eclectic group of 22 artists from the metro areas of Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, the Valley and West Texas. The work includes creations of glass, clay, collage, assemblage, painting and metal.
